Israel en Eurovisión: "Einaij" (Tus Ojos) Noa y Miri Awad

"Israel estará representado en Eurovisión por la famosa cantante Noa y la árabe Mira Awad, según decidió ayer una comisión de la televisión nacional IBA. Por primera vez, Israel enviará al certamen de la canción Eurovisión -el próximo 16 de mayo en Moscú- un dúo integrado por una árabe y una israelí.

Noa es la artista israelí con mayor proyección internacional. Ha cantado junto a Sting, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, Joan Manuel Serrat y Miguel Bosé entre otros.

Noa había recibido propuestas de participación en Eurovisión en repetidas ocasiones. Esta vez, Noa ha aceptado participar, pero poniendo como condición participar junto con Mira Awad. Para Noa, “esta es una posibilidad de impulsar el proceso de paz con los palestinos”.

Mira Awad es cantante y actriz de padre palestino y madre búlgara, nacida en un pueblo árabe al norte de Israel. Es la primera vez que una cantante árabe representa a Israel.
